Post approvals for teams

Hold posts scheduled by editors until an owner or admin approves them from the Publishing queue.

When more than one person can publish, someone usually wants the last word. Post approvals add that sign-off without slowing anyone down.

Turn it on

Go to Settings, then General, and enable Post approvals (owners and admins only). While it is on, posts scheduled by editors are held for review. Owners and admins always publish directly.

What the editor sees

The composer works exactly the same, but the button reads Submit for approval. The post lands in the Dashboard's Publishing queue under Awaiting approval instead of going out. Nothing reaches the platforms yet, and a linked project does not advance to its final stage until the post is approved.

Approve or decline

An owner or admin clicks the held post in the queue:

  • Approve sends it to the platforms as scheduled. If the requested time already passed while it waited, it publishes immediately.
  • Decline holds it back, optionally with a note explaining what to change.

After a decline

The editor sees the post marked Declined with the note. Editing it (caption, title, or time) resubmits it for approval automatically, or it can simply be deleted.

Approvals shine on Studio, where teammates share a workspace - see Members, roles, and invites.
