Notifications

CoveDeck tells you about things that happen while you are not looking in two places: the notification bell in the sidebar, which keeps a durable list, and push notifications, which buzz a device right away.

The notification bell

The bell sits in the left sidebar, just under Search (on a phone it is in the top bar). A dot on it counts what you have not read yet. Click it to open the feed.

You get a notification when:

• Someone assigns you a task.
• Someone mentions you in a project comment.
• Someone comments on a project you are part of the conversation on.
• Someone adds a review note to a video whose thread you are in.
• A scheduled post publishes or fails.
• A post needs your approval, or a post you submitted was approved or declined.

Click any notification to jump straight to the thing it is about; it marks itself read as you go. Mark all read clears the dot, and Clear read tidies away everything you have already dealt with.

The feed is per person, not per workspace: if you work across two workspaces, a mention in either one reaches you without switching.

Push notifications

Push alerts are the same events delivered to your device even when CoveDeck is closed. They are optional and set up per device.

Turn them on

1. Go to Settings, then Preferences, then Notifications.
2. Tap Enable notifications and allow the browser prompt.

Notifications are per device and per browser, so enable them on each device where you want alerts. Turn them off again from the same place.

On iPhone and iPad

Install CoveDeck to your home screen first (Share, then Add to Home Screen): iOS only allows web notifications for installed apps. See Install CoveDeck on your devices. Desktop and Android work straight from the browser.

If the button says notifications are blocked

Allow notifications for CoveDeck in your browser or device settings, then try again.
